Basic setting of the pressure regulator, turbo

Checking

1. Remove the vacuum hose from the pressure regulator.

2. Connect 30 14 883 Pressure/vacuum pump .

3. Check that the valve is open (unpressurized). Create negative pressure. The valve should start to close at 50 mbar.

4. When the negative pressure is approximately 480 mbar, the valve should be fully shut.

5. Adjust the stroke of the pull rod as necessary. (8.5-12.5 mm)

6. Remove the tool and connect the vacuum hose.

Adjustment

The pressure regulator is adjusted at the factory and shall therefore only be adjusted in exceptional cases. The boost pressure must always be checked after adjustment. See Checking charge pressure (on-road) .

Important

When adjusting the pushrod stroke, it is important that the pliers used as to hold the rod are positioned as close to the threads as possible. Turn the end piece so that no burrs are created on the pushrod. Adjusting must always be done with the pushrod disconnected from the operating arm.

Adjusting with the diaphragm unit and pressure regulator fitted to the turbo compressor:

1. Loosen the end piece nut.

2. Break the seal, remove the circlip and remove the pushrod from the operating arm.

3. Adjust the end piece to correct the pushrod stroke.

4. Hook the pushrod onto the operating arm pin. Fit the circlip.

5. Check the boost pressure, see Checking charge pressure (on-road) .

6. Affix a seal to the pushrod.
