Engine, overhauling with partial engine

To remove




1. Remove the engine - see Engine with gearbox, removing and fitting

2. Remove the cooling unit from the front axle member

3. Suspend the engine and gearbox from a workshop crane and remove them from the front axle member.

4. Undo the gearbox from the engine.

5. Fit adapter KM-412-3 on the engine block - remove the relevant components.

6. Remove any supplementary engine components.


To fit






1. For necessary tightening torques when assembling - see Tightening torque - standard values

2. Punch the engine number into the engine block (arrow).

3. Knock in the centring sleeves (1) with KM-427 until they stop against the engine block.


4. Fit or assemble where applicable all the supplementary engine components.

5. Remove the engine from the assembly stand and remove the adapter from the engine block.

6. Fit the gearbox onto the engine.

7. Fit the engine together with the gearbox onto the front axle member.

8. Fit the cooling unit to the front axle member.
