1. |
Dismantle the seat
.

2. |
Remove the head restraint sleeves
.

3. |
Dismantle the backrest trim
.
|
4. |
Dismantle the backrest's foam cushion.
|
5. |
Cut off the cable tie holding the cable for the side airbag.
|
6. |
Loosen the clip holding the cable for the side airbag. Note the routing of the cable.
|
7. |
Open the seat's connector and loosen the side airbag's connector.
|
8. |
Open the T-connector and end piece on the seat's wiring harness to release the side airbag's cable.
|
9. |
Dismantle the screws holding the side airbag.

To fit |
|
1. |
Fit the side airbag.
Tightening torque 5 Nm (4 lbf ft) |
2. |
Insert the side airbag's cable in the wiring harness' T-connector and end piece and push together.

3. |
Connect the side airbag's connector to the seat's connector.
|
4. |
Fit the clip holding the cable for the side airbag.
|
5. |
Secure the cable with a cable tie.
|
6. |
Fit the backrest upholstery
.
|
7. |
Fit the head restraint sleeves by pressing the sleeves into respective holes in the backrest. Make sure that the catch inside the sleeve locks.

8. |
Fit the head restraint sleeves and head restraint
.
|
9. |
Fit the seat
.
|
10. |
Connect the battery.
|
11. |
Turn ON the ignition and check the airbag system and control module using the diagnostic tool as follows:
Connect the diagnostic tool to the data link connector under the dashboard. Delete any diagnostic trouble codes. Turn the ignition OFF and then ON again. Wait at least 1 minute with the ignition on. Check whether a diagnostic trouble code is shown: If a diagnostic trouble code is shown:Carry out fault diagnosis according to the instructions under respective trouble codes. If a diagnostic trouble code is not shown:The assembly was successful. Disconnect the diagnostic tool. |
