Condenser

Important

The A/C receiver and the compressor oil absorb moisture from the air, which can then not be removed. Plug all connections that are opened immediately.


To remove


1. Put the car on a lift.

2. Drain the refrigerant from the A/C system, see Draining and filling the refrigerant .

3. Remove the headlamp screws.


4. Remove the bumper's two-stage rivets.

5. Dismantle the upper radiator cross member .

6. Raise the car.

7. Remove the lower engine cover.


8. Remove the right hand radiator mounting.


9. Dismantle the condenser's lower PAD connection. Plug the openings.

10. Lower the car.

11. Dismantle the bumper's 3 screws in the right front wheel housing.


12. Carefully pull out the bumper on the right hand side and then move the bumper a little forwards.


13. Dismantle the right headlamp .


14. Dismantle the condenser upper PAD connection. Plug the openings.


15. Dismantle the condenser's upper screws.


16. Carefully lift out the condenser.


To fit


1. Adjust the oil quantity in the A/C system. See Filling and adjusting the compressor oil .

2. Insert the condenser into position. Take care so that the lower PAD connection does not catch on the condenser. Make sure the condenser lower mounting is fitted correctly.


3. Fit the condenser's upper screws.


4. Replace the sealing washer and fit the condenser's upper PAD connection.


Tightening torque 18 Nm (13 lbf ft)

5. Fit the right hand headlamp and its connector.


6. Fit the bumper on the right hand side.


7. Fit the bumper's 3 screws in the right front wheel housing.


8. Raise the car.

9. Replace the sealing washer and fit the condenser's lower PAD connection.


Tightening torque 18 Nm (13 lbf ft)

10. Fit the right hand radiator mounting.

11. Fit the lower engine cover.


12. Lower the car.

13. Fit the upper radiator cross member .


14. Fit the two-stage rivets on the bumper.

15. Fit the screws on the headlamps

16. Vacuum pump and fill the A/C system with refrigerant. See Draining and filling the refrigerant .

17. Check the performance of the A/C system. See A/C system performance test .
