Lower heat shield, turbo, B284

To remove

Warning

The turbocharger can be hot and great care must be observed.


Warning

The cooling system is under pressure. Hot coolant and steam can escape.

- Open the cap slowly to release the pressure.

- Carelessness can cause eye and burn injuries



1. Remove the battery cover (A).


2. Remove the battery cable.

3. Remove the battery.

4. Remove Battery cover, bottom section, B284 .

5. Detach and raise the expansion tank slightly (A).


6. Remove the upper heat shield (A) from the turbocharger.


7. Remove the turbocharger's lower heat shield (A).



To fit


1. Fit the turbocharger's lower heat shield (A).

2. Fit the upper heat shield (A) on the turbocharger.


3. Fit the coolant reservoir in the mounting.


4. Fit Battery cover, bottom section, B284 .

5. Fit the battery.

6. Connect the battery cable.

7. Fit the battery cover (A).


8. Remove the wing covers and restore car electrical functions, see Procedure after reconnecting the battery .
