Rain sensor

To remove


1. Remove the cover. Use 82 93 474 Removal tool .


2. Unplug the connector.


Note

Be careful when the catches are pushed out of the bracket so that the windscreen is not damaged.


3. Release the clamps and remove the rain sensor by pressing the clamps out towards the windscreen.


To fit


1. Clean the windscreen in the area of the rain sensor.

2. Fit the rain sensor by snapping the clamps into place.

Note

The rain sensor's contact surface must not be damaged or contain dirt.



Note

Check that the clamps are correctly seated in the grooves and that the rain sensor makes good contact with the windscreen.


3. Check visually from the outside that good contact (no bubbles) exists between windscreen and sensor.

4. Plug in the connector.

5. Fit the cover by first pressing home the bottom edge and then the top edge.


Changing the clamps


1. Remove the rain sensor.

2. Remove the clamps by bending them out until they come free from the rain sensor bracket.

3. Press new clamps into the grooves on the rain sensor.

4. Fit the rain sensor.
