Complete unit, differential clutch and final drive gear, B207

Warning

The hydraulic pressure in the differential clutch is very high. Wait for at least 10 minutes before removing any parts from the differential clutch.


To remove


1. Carry out Diagnostic procedures before replacing control modules .

2. Remove Drive shafts, rear, 4WD left and right-hand side.

3. Remove Complete exhaust system, B207, 4WD .

4. Remove propeller shaft .

5. Remove the hooks (A) from the control module and take the protective cover (B) off the hydraulic pump.


6. Undo the cable clips (A).


7. Dismantle the electrical connection (A).

Important

Be careful that the differential clutch control module does not get damaged.



8. Support the differential clutch with a column jack and secure with a strap (A).


9. Remove screws (B) from the differential clutch and limited slip differential.

10. Lower the differential clutch and limited slip differential.


To fit

Important

Be careful that the differential clutch control module does not get damaged.



1. Support the differential clutch with a column jack and secure with a strap (A).


2. Raise the differential clutch and limited slip differential.

3. Fit screws (B) to the differential clutch and limited slip differential.

Tightening torque: 90 Nm (66.3 lbf ft) + 90°+15°

4. Fit the electrical connection (A).


5. Fit the cable clips (A).


6. Fit the propeller shaft .

7. Fit Complete exhaust system, B207, 4WD .

8. Fit Drive shafts, rear, 4WD left and right-hand side.

9. Fit the protective cover (B) to the hydraulic pump and attach the hooks (A) to the control module.



During replacement, perform Procedures after control module replacement .
