It is very important to observe maximum cleanliness when working on the differential clutch. Dirt particles can seriously damage the function and service life of the differential clutch. |

To remove |
1. |
Raise the car.
|
2. |
Remove
Complete exhaust system, B207, 4WD
.
|
3. |
Remove
propeller shaft
.
|
4. |
Remove the hooks (A) from the control module and take the protective cover (B) off the hydraulic pump.
|
5. |
Undo the cable clips (A).
|
6. |
Dismantle the electrical connection (A).
|
7. |
Support the differential clutch with a pillar jack, secure with a strap (A).
|
8. |
Remove screws (B) from the differential clutch and limited slip differential.
|
9. |
Lower the differential clutch and limited slip differential enough to remove the lid, be careful not to damage the drive joints.
|
10. |
Position a receptacle under the differential clutch.
|
11. |
Detach the ventilation hose (A) from the cover.
|
12. |
Remove the cover (B).
|
To fit |
1. |
Clean the cover.
|
2. |
Fit the cover (B) with a new gasket. Tighten the bolts alternately.
Tightening torque: 5.7 Nm (4.2 lbf ft) |

Fill with new fluid. See

4. |
Attach the ventilation hose (A) to the cover.
|
5. |
Raise the differential clutch and limited slip differential.
|
6. |
Fit screws (B) to the differential clutch and limited slip differential.
Tightening torque: 90 Nm (66.4 lbf ft) + 90°+15° |

Remove the strap (A).

8. |
Fit the electrical connection (A).
|
9. |
Fit the cable clips (A).
|
10. |
Fit the protective cover (A) to the hydraulic pump and attach the hooks (B) to the control module.

Fit the
propeller shaft
.

12. |
Fit
Complete exhaust system, B207, 4WD

Check the fluid level in the differential clutch. See

14. |
Lower the car to the floor.
