Replacement of bearing


To remove


1. Place the differential in a vice with protective jaws and pull off the bearings using 87 92 343 Puller, differential bearing. Use also 87 91 659 Support as support.


To fit



1. Press down the bearings until they stop using 87 92 475 Press sleeve, differential bearing . Use also 87 92 210 Support, differential bearing .

Replacement of final drive gear

To remove



1. Remove the final drive gear bolts using an external torx and tap off the final drive gear using a plastic hammer.


To fit



1. Tap on the final gear wheel on the differential housing using a plastic hammer.

2. Fit the final drive gear with the mark towards the differential housing. Fit new bolts and tighten alternately. Coat the bolts with Thread locking adhesive, Loctite 270 . It may be necessary to heat the gear before assembling.

Tightening torque 20 Nm+90° (15 lbf ft+90°)
