The input shaft rotates clockwise and is connected to the sun wheel by clutch C2. As a result, the input shaft and sun wheel rotate clockwise at the same speed.Brake B3 prevents the front planetary gear train's (P2) ring gear from rotating.
The inner planet gear rotates anticlockwise and the outer planet gear clockwise at the same time as it moves anticlockwise round the inside of the front planetary gear train's (P2) ring gear.
The planet carrier and the driving intermediate gear rotate anticlockwise as a unit at a lower speed than the input shaft.
Since the driving intermediate gear rotates anticlockwise, the driven intermediate gear and the lower planetary gear train's (P3) ring gear rotate clockwise as a unit.
Brake B4 locks the sun wheel to prevent it from rotating in either direction.
The planet gears rotate clockwise at the same time as they move clock wise round the sun wheel.
The planet carrier and the driven final drive pinion rotate clockwise as a unit at a lower speed than the driving intermediate gear.
