Engine Speed Sensor Plausibility Fault with Pump Camshaft Sensor.


Fault symptoms


• CHECK ENGINE lamp on.

• Limp home.


Conditions

The following conditions apply for this DTC:


• When the difference between signals is greater than 800 rpm. Diagnosis is active above a crankshaft speed of 800 rpm and camshaft speed of 400 rpm.


Diagnostic help

Diagnosis detects mechanical faults, such as a loose sensor. The control module uses the pump speed x 2 as a substitute value.

Note

A fault in the control module female connector can cause a trouble code. Check the contact for a bent pin, oxidation and tightness of pins. See Difficult faults in PSG16 despite trouble code .
