Read the instructions below then start the fault diagnostic procedure.

Symptom: CHECK ENGINE lamp on. Limp home. Loss of performance. Cruise control does not work.

Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor Circuit. Plausibility Fault with Atmosphere Pressure.

Cruise control does not work.


Conditions

The following conditions apply for this DTC:


When the difference between the boost pressure sensor and the atmospheric pressure sensor is greater than 22.5 kPa for more than 3 seconds. Diagnosis takes place at engine speeds below 950 rpm and below 15 mg/combustion.

Fault criteria not fulfilled for P0107, P0108, P2228, P2229, P1634, P1635, P1636 or P1637.

DTC P2227 is generated simultaneously in the control module. Boost pressure control and EGR control are stopped. Diagnosis for P2228, P0108, P1107 and P2229 is stopped. Boost pressure control is stopped. Test reading: Absolute pressure sensor = 100 kPa.

Note

A fault in the control module female connector can cause a trouble code. Check the contact for a bent pin, oxidation and tightness of pins. See Difficult faults in PSG16 despite trouble code
