Conditions

The following conditions apply for this DTC:

P660: Break on the swirl throttle circuit for more than 1.2 s.

P661: Swirl throttle circuit shorted to ground for more than 1.2 s.

P662: Swirl throttle circuit shorted to B+ for more than 1.2 s.

Diagnostic help

The DTC may indicate an electrical fault in the swirl throttle circuit; a mechanical fault can be noticed as a loss of performance over 3500 rpm if the throttle is stuck in the closed position. If the throttle does not close over a longer period of time, fuel consumption can increase. In the event of a fault, EGR control is disengaged.

Note

A fault in the control module female connector can cause a trouble code. Check the contact for a bent pin, oxidation and tightness of pins. See Difficult faults in PSG16 despite trouble code
