CHECK ENGINE lamp on.
|
Conditions
The following conditions apply for this DTC:• |
The main relay has closed too early. If the voltage on pin 28 disappears after three attempts to start the engine, the DTC is generated.
The main relay has been closed too late. The delay function includes a check of the main relay circuit. A timer is started when the control module ceases to ground pin K28 to the main relay. If it takes longer than 3 seconds for the current to disappear from pin 5 after grounding of K28 has ceased, 3 times in succession, the diagnostic trouble code will be generated the next time the ignition is turned on. |
Diagnostic help
A loose contact or poor ground connection can cause the control module to experience a break in the current. When a fault occurs that generates P1653, then DTCs can also be generated for the components that are supplied with power from the main relay.Note | ||
A fault in the control module female connector can cause a trouble code. Check the contact for a bent pin, oxidation and tightness of pins. See Difficult faults in PSG16 despite trouble code |
