Receiver

To remove


1. Drain the refrigerant from the A/C system. See Draining and filling of refrigerant .

2. Place the car on a lift and raise it.

3. Remove the front cover below the radiator core.


4. Cars with cooling pipe : Remove the front cooling pipe from the battery cover.

5. Remove the A/C pipes' PAD connections from the condenser and receiver. Plug the openings.


Important

If the desiccant container has been open for more than 15 minutes in total, it should be changed.


6. Detach the receiver from the condenser mounting and remove it.


To fit


1. Raise the receiver and fit it in its mounting.


2. Replace the O-rings and lubricate with acid-free vaseline, part no. 30 06 665. Then fit the A/C pipes' PAD connections to the condenser and receiver.

Tightening torque: 8 Nm (6 lbf ft)

3. Cars with cooling pipe : Fit the front cooling pipe to the battery cover.

4. Fit the front cover below the radiator core.


5. Lower the car to the floor.

6. Evacuate the A/C system and fill with refrigerant R134. See Draining and filling of refrigerant .
