Clutch Switch Plausibility Error

Fault symptoms


• Cruise control inoperative.


On-Board Diagnostics

Type of diagnosis:


- Continuous.


Enable criteria:


- Vehicle speed greater than 35 km/h.

- Engine speed exceeds 1500 rpm.


Fault criteria:


- When the status of the clutch switch does not changed for 25 gearchanges in succession.


System reaction to a fault:


- The control module uses the substitute value "Clutch switch ON" so that the cruise control does not work.


Check the wiring

A fault in the control module's female connector can generate a DTC. Check the contact for oxidation, dislodge pins and pin clamping force.

Jiggle the leads and in-line connectors at various points and in different directions to detect any intermittent breaks or short circuits in the wiring. Observe the multimeter, test lamp or diagnostic tool while doing this. Check switches, connectors and crimp connections for oxidation, dislodged pins and pin clamping force.
