Power Vacuum Brake Booster Replacement (Left Hand Drive)

Preliminary Procedure

1. With the engine OFF, apply the brake pedal several times until the brake pedal becomes firm to deplete the vacuum brake booster vacuum reserve.

2. Pull the brake pedal upwards to loosen (unsnap) from the brake arm.

3. Remove the brake fluid from the master cylinder reservoir, using a suitable suction device.

4. Disconnect the brake fluid level sensor electrical connector.

5. Remove the master cylinder. Refer to Master Cylinder Replacement (Right Hand Drive) Master Cylinder Replacement (Left Hand Drive) .

6. Remove the brake pressure modulator valve. Refer to Electronic Brake and Traction Control Module with Brake Pressure Modulator Valve Replacement .

Vacuum Check Valve

Note

If necessary, a small amount of denatured alcohol can be used as an assembly aid for installing the check valve to the vacuum brake booster grommet. Do NOT use soap solution.

Power Vacuum Brake Booster Bolt (Qty: 2)

Refer to Fastener Caution .

Tighten

19 Nm (14 lb ft)

Procedures

1. If equipped, calibrate the brake pedal position sensor. Refer to Brake Pedal Position Sensor Calibration .

2. Install NEW click fit connector on brake pedal arm, in any case the connection brake pedal to booster pushrod is disconnected.
