Electronic Brake and Traction Control Module with Brake Pressure Modulator Valve Replacement

Preliminary Procedure

1. With the engine OFF, apply the brake pedal several times until the brake pedal becomes firm to deplete the vacuum brake booster vacuum reserve.

2. Remove the brake fluid from the master cylinder reservoir, using a suitable suction device.

3. Remove the battery and tray. Refer to Battery Tray Replacement (Diesel) Battery Tray Replacement (LDK/A20NHT) .

4. Disconnect the brake fluid level sensor electrical connector.

5. Loosen the coolant reservoir from the bracket and move aside to make space.

Brake Pipe Fitting (Qty: 6)

Refer to Fastener Caution .

Procedures

Remove the brake pipe fittings and cap the linings to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.

Tighten

18 Nm (13 lb ft)

Electronic Brake Control Module Bracket Fastener (Qty: 3)

Tighten

20 Nm (15 lb ft)

Electronic Brake Control Module Electrical Connector


Procedures

1. Disconnect the EBCM electrical connector and carefully remove the antilock brake control assembly.

2. Apply grease on the connector pins when installing a new electronic brake control module.

Brake Pressure Modulator Valve Bolt (Qty: 3)

Tighten

10 Nm (88 lb in)

Procedures

1. Fill the master cylinder reservoir.

2. Program the EBCM if a new one is installed. See Electronic Brake Control Module Programming and Setup .

3. Bleed the brake system. Refer to Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding .

4. Perform a diagnostic system check. Refer to Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle .

5. If equipped, calibrate the brake pedal position sensor. Refer to Brake Pedal Position Sensor Calibration .

6. Centering the steering angle sensor. Refer to Steering Angle Sensor Centering .

7. Program the volatile memory. Refer to Volatile Memory Programming
