Preliminary Procedure
1.
|
With the engine OFF, apply the brake pedal several times until the brake pedal becomes firm to deplete the vacuum brake booster vacuum reserve.
|
2.
|
Remove the brake fluid from the master cylinder reservoir, using a suitable suction device.
|
4.
|
Disconnect the brake fluid level sensor electrical connector.
|
5.
|
Loosen the coolant reservoir from the bracket and move aside to make space.
|

Procedures
1.
|
Thoroughly clean the electronic brake control module (EBCM) to brake pressure modulator valve (BPMV) area of any accumulated dirt and foreign material.
|
2.
|
Remove the brake pipe fittings and cap the linings to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.
|
Tighten
18 Nm (13 lb ft)
|

Electronic Brake Control Module Electrical Connector
Procedures
1.
|
Disconnect the EBCM electrical connector and carefully remove the antilock brake control assembly.
|
2.
|
Apply grease on the connector pins when installing a new electronic brake control module.
|
|

|
Brake Pressure Modulator Valve Bolt (Qty: 3)
Tighten
10 Nm (88 lb in)
|

Electronic Brake Control Module Bolt (Qty: 4)
Tighten
3 Nm (26 lb in)

Procedures
1.
|
Carefully separate the EBCM from the BPMV, do not pry the components apart.
|
2.
|
Clean the sealing surface of the BPMV with denatured alcohol and a clean shop cloth and allow to dry.
|
3.
|
Fill the master cylinder reservoir.
|
