Oil Pressure Diagnosis and Testing



Special Tools

• EN 498 B Oil Pressure Gauge

• EN 232 Adapter Oil Pressure Check


For equivalent regional tools, refer to Special Tools .

Removal Procedure


1. Remove the closure bolt (1).


2. Clean the thread.


Measurement Procedure


1. Install the EN 498 B gauge (2).


2. Install the EN 232 adapter (1).

3. Start the engine.

4. Check oil pressure.

At idling speed, the oil pressure must be at least 130 kPa (18.85 psi) and the oil temperature must be 80°C (170°F) or more.


Installation Procedure


1. Switch off the engine.

2. Remove the EN 232 adapter.

3. Remove the EN 498 B gauge.

4. Install new closure bolt in the cylinder head.

5. Refer to Fastener Caution .

Tighten locking screw to 15 Nm (11 lb ft) .

6. Check engine oil level.
