Secondary Timing Chain Tensioner Installation - Left Side

1.
|
Ensure that the secondary timing chain tensioner bank 2 (2) is being installed.
|
|
2.
|
Using the
EN-49416
reset tool, reset the secondary timing chain tensioner plunger.
|
|
3.
|
Install the plunger into the secondary timing chain tensioner body.
|
|
4.
|
Compress the plunger into the body and lock the secondary timing chain tensioner by inserting the
EN 46112
pin into the access hole in the side of the secondary timing chain tensioner body.
|
|
5.
|
Slowly release pressure on the secondary timing chain tensioner. The secondary timing chain tensioner should remain compressed.
|
|
6.
|
Verify the proper placement of the secondary timing chain tensioner gasket tab (1).
|
|

.
Tighten the 2 secondary timing chain tensioner bolts a first pass to
5 Nm (44 lb in)
.

|
8.
|
Tighten the 2 secondary timing chain tensioner bolts a second pass to
23 Nm (17 lb ft)
.
|
|
9.
|
Release the secondary timing chain tensioner by pulling out the
EN 46112
pin and unlocking the tensioner plunger.
