Fuel Injection Fuel Rail Assembly Replacement

Removal Procedure

Warning

Gasoline or gasoline vapors are highly flammable. A fire could occur if an ignition source is present. Never drain or store gasoline or diesel fuel in an open container, due to the possibility of fire or explosion. Have a dry chemical (Class B) fire extinguisher nearby.


Warning

Always re-attach the fuel lines and fuel filter with all original type fasteners and hardware.

Do not repair sections of fuel pipes.



1. Relief the fuel pressure. Refer to Fuel Pressure Relief .

2. Remove the evaporative emission canister purge solenoid valve. Refer to Evaporative Emission Canister Purge Solenoid Valve Replacement (LLU/A16LET) .

3. Release the injector wiring harness.


• Remove the 3 fasteners (1) from both brackets (2).

• Disconnect the electrical connector (3) from the 4 injectors (4).

4. Remove both fuel rail fasteners (1) and pull out the fuel injection fuel rail (2).


5. Remove the 4 fuel injectors. Refer to Fuel Injector Replacement .


Installation Procedure


1. Install the 4 fuel injectors. Refer to Fuel Injector Replacement .

2. Refer to Fastener Caution .

Install the fuel injection fuel rail (1) and the fuel rail fasteners (2) and tighten to 8 Nm (71 lb in) .


3. Install the injector wiring harness.


• Connect the electrical connector (3) to the 4 injectors (4).

• Install both brackets (2) and the bracket fasteners (1).

4. Install the evaporative emission canister purge solenoid valve. Refer to Evaporative Emission Canister Purge Solenoid Valve Replacement (LLU/A16LET) .
