Catalytic Converter Replacement (LHU/A20NFT - AWD)

Removal Procedure


1. Remove the engine sight shield. Refer to Engine Sight Shield Replacement .

2. Remove the turbocharger heat shield. Refer to Turbocharger Heat Shield Replacement .

3. Remove the heated oxygen sensor 1. Refer to Heated Oxygen Sensor Replacement - Sensor 1 .

4. Remove the 4 catalytic converter fasteners (1) from the turbocharger (2).


5. Remove the front wheelhouse front liner. Refer to Front Wheelhouse Front Liner Replacement .

6. Remove the heated oxygen sensor 2. Refer to Heated Oxygen Sensor Replacement - Sensor 2 .

7. Release the stabilizer shaft link. Refer to Stabilizer Shaft Link Replacement (GNA) Stabilizer Shaft Link Replacement (GNB) .

8. Release the stabilizer shaft. Refer to Stabilizer Shaft Replacement .

9. Remove the propeller shaft. Refer to Propeller Shaft Replacement .

10. Remove exhaust front pipe. Refer to Exhaust Front Pipe Replacement .

11. Prop up the drivetrain and front suspension frame with a hydraulic jack.

Note

Do not loosen or open both the drivetrain and front suspension frame crossmember front fasteners.


Remove the drivetrain and front suspension reinforcement. Refer to Drivetrain and Front Suspension Frame Front Crossmember Replacement (GNA) Drivetrain and Front Suspension Frame Front Crossmember Replacement (GNB) .

13. Remove the catalytic converter brace bracket. Refer to Catalytic Converter Brace Bracket Replacement .

14. Lower the drivetrain and front suspension frame approximately 50 mm (2 in) .


15. Remove the catalytic converter clockwise.



Installation Procedure


1. Install the catalytic converter counterclockwise.


2. Jack up the drivetrain and front suspension frame.


3. Install the drivetrain and front suspension frame reinforcement. Refer to Drivetrain and Front Suspension Frame Front Crossmember Replacement (GNA) Drivetrain and Front Suspension Frame Front Crossmember Replacement (GNB) .

4. Install the catalytic converter brace bracket. Refer to Catalytic Converter Brace Bracket Replacement .

5. Remove the hydraulic jack from the drivetrain and front suspension frame.

6. Install the exhaust front pipe. Refer to Exhaust Front Pipe Replacement .

7. Install the propeller shaft. Refer to Propeller Shaft Replacement .

8. Install the stabilizer shaft. Refer to Stabilizer Shaft Replacement .

9. Install the stabilizer shaft link. Refer to Stabilizer Shaft Link Replacement (GNA) Stabilizer Shaft Link Replacement (GNB) .

10. Install the heated oxygen sensor 2. Refer to Heated Oxygen Sensor Replacement - Sensor 2 .

11. Install the front wheelhouse front liner. Refer to Front Wheelhouse Front Liner Replacement .

12. Refer to Fastener Caution .

Install the catalytic converter's 4 fasteners (1) to the turbocharger (2) and tighten to 58 Nm (43 lb ft) .


13. Install the heated oxygen sensor 1. Refer to Heated Oxygen Sensor Replacement - Sensor 1 .

14. Install the turbocharger heat shield. Refer to Turbocharger Heat Shield Replacement .

15. Install the engine sight shield. Refer to Engine Sight Shield Replacement .
