GEAR POSITION
|
On replacement of the gear selector position sensor, the control module must be recalibrated for the new sensor. Memorizing (calibration) of the gear position should be carried out with the engine running. The gear lever is to be moved through the sequence 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, R, N.
Note that it is important to release the gear lever in each gear position and then press ON/ENTER on the Scan tool diagnostics instrument.
If memorization is accepted, the Scan tool diagnostics instrument will display a response:
CALIBRATION OK!
If memorization is not accepted, the Scan tool diagnostics instrument will display a different response:
CALIBRATION FAILED.
In production, individual calibration of every car is carried out before it leaves the works.
