No diagnostic trouble code, no contact with the system

Unscrew the steering wheel airbag and unplug the connector at the back of the
airbag. Connect reference resistor 84 71 153 to the connector.
On cars with a passenger airbag, remove the glove box and unplug the connector on
the undenrside of the airbag. Connect reference resistor 84 71 153 to the
connector.

Unplug the connector at the control module and check pin 9 for open
circuit/slide-out.
Close the connector and switch on the ignition.
If the lamp does not come on, the fault was in the connector.
If the lamp is still on continuously, proceed to point 4.

|
Unplug the connector at the control module and connect a BOB to the connector
on the wiring. Switch on the ignition and take a voltage reading across pin 9 and a good
grounding point.
If no battery voltage is present, check the wiring connected to fuse 18 for open
circuit.
Rectify the fault.
If the reading obtained is 9 - 16 V, proceed to
