    The gearbox or the left-hand drive shaft must have been removed from the car.
    
    
   
   
   
    
     
      
       | 1. | Remove the five screws of the seal holder and remove the seal holder by tapping with a drift from the backside. Put the shims, screws and seal holder in a safe place. 
 
   
 | 
     
    
   
   
    
     
      
       | 2. | Press out the sealing ring with sleeve 87 91 311  and support 87 92 236.   
 
 | 
     
    
   
   
    
     
      
       | 3. | Detach the O-ring with a small screwdriver or similar. 
 
   
 | 
     
    
   
   
   
   
    
   
   
   
    
     
      
       | 1. | Press the sealing ring on, using drift 87 90 859  and drift 83 90 312,  until it is in place. Use 87 92 236 as a counterstay. 
 
   
 | 
     
    
   
   
    
     
      
       | 2. | Lubricate a new O-ring and carefully fit it. 
 
   
 | 
     
    
   
   
    
     
      
       | 3. | Lubricate the sealing ring with gearbox oil. 
 
 | 
     
    
   
   
    
     
      
       | 4. | Bolt on the seal holder and shims that were fitted originally. Tighten alternately. 
 
   
 | 
     
    
   
   
   
    Tightening torque 22 Nm (16 lbf ft).
