Pump motor, faulty

Fault symptom

ABS (ANTI LOCK) warning lamp on, no ABS function.

Condition

The pump motor is tested when the car has been started and the wheels begin to rotate (>6 km/h). It is then monitored continuously. The trouble code is generated:

If the motor's power supply drops below a certain level within 100 milliseconds of the pump motor relay having stopped activating it.

If the motor's power supply remains above a certain level for more than 5 seconds without the pump motor relay activating it.

Diagnostic help

The pump motor can be activated using the ISAT scan tool.

- Select ”ACTIVATE”.

- Select ”PUMP MOTOR”.

If the ABS control module has no ground connection (connector pin 16) a diagnostic trouble code will be generated.

Does this activate the motor?

yes

Continue with point 4.

no

Change the pump motor.

4 Final check
