| Removal | 
| 1. | 
       Lift the car and take off the
wheel.
        | 
     |
| 2. | 
       Press the brake pistons back with a pair of grips.
        | 
     |
| 3. | 
       Depress the brake pedal with a brake clamp.
        | 
     |
| 4. | 
       Undo the brake pipe conection from the brake caliper. Plug the pipe and the
brake caliper.
        
       
        | 
     |
| 5. | 
       Remove the pins and the locking spring.
        | 
     |
| 6. | 
       Remove the brake pads.
        | 
     |
| 7. | 
       Remove the two brake caliper securing bolts and lift away the brake caliper.
        | 
     |
| Fitting | 
   
   | 1. | 
       Fit the brake caliper, and tighten
the securing bolts using a locking compound.
        Tightening torque 80 Nm (59 lbf ft)  | 
     |
| 2. | 
       Remove the plugs and connect the brake pipe.
        | 
     |
| 3. | 
       Fit the brake pads, pins and lock spring.
        | 
     |
| 4. | 
       Lower the car slightly and remove the brake clamp.
        
       
        | 
     |
| 5. | 
       Bleed the brake system.
        | 
     |
| 6. | 
       Fit the wheel and tighten the wheel studs.
        Tightening torque - light alloy wheels 117 Nm (86.6 lbf ft) - pressed steel wheels 100 Nm (74 lbf ft)  |

| Disassembly | 
   
   | 1. | 
       Remove the brake caliper (see
       
         
       
       ).
        | 
     |
| 2. | 
       Clean the hydraulic body.
        | 
     |
| 3. | 
       Remove the two dust covers.
        | 
     |
| 4. | 
       Remove the plugs and force out the piston using compressed air. Use the
special tool (part no. 89 96 72) as a dolly.
        | 
     |
| 5. | 
       Remove the seal rings in the cylinder bore.
        | 
     |
| 6. | 
       Check for damage due to wear.
        | 
     |
| Assembly | 
   
   | 1. | 
       Lubricate the piston seal rings
with the grease supplied in the kit. Also fill the dust cover with grease.
        | 
     |
| 2. | 
       Fit the piston seals into the cylinder bore.
        | 
     |
Fit the brake pads.
