Connect the Scan tool diagnostics instrument to the car's data link connector (DTC) and select "CLUTCH TEMPERATURE" in the "READ FUNCTIONS" menu of the diagnostics instrument. With the sensor's 2-pin connector open, the Scan tool diagnostics instrument should show a reading of about -40C. With the sensor's 2-pin connector short-circuited by a jumper lead connected across pins 1 and 2, the diagnostics instrument should show a reading of about +215C.
