SRS control module

To remove


1. Ignition in OFF position. Remove the negative cable on the battery.

2. Apply the handbrake.

3. Remove the ignition switch cover by first removing the front part of the left-hand side, loosening the back of the cover and then unhooking the front edge.

4. Unplug the connector of the ignition-switch lighting.

5. Remove the floor bracket retaining bolts, 2 pcs.

6. Remove the rear ashtray/cover plate.

7. Remove the rear cowl, which is secured by 1 torx screw.

8. Remove the retaining nuts for the floor console, 2 pcs.

9. Detach the floor console by pulling it straight to the rear and lifting it up slightly.

10. Remove the interior lighting switch by using a screwdriver or press it from underneath, (the switch is attached with clips) and pull it straight up. Unplug the switch connector.

11. Detach the switch for the rear-seat heater. Unplug the switch connector.

12. Remove the window lift module by loosening the front edge (snap fastening). Unplug the window lift module connector.

13. Lift out floor console.

14. Unplug the control module connector.

15. Remove the nuts securing the control module, 3 pcs.


To fit

The mounting of the control module is directionally dependent. The Supplementary Restraint System (SRS) will not work if the control module is fitted incorrectly.


1. Fit the control module in place so that the connector is directed towards the driver's seat. Tighten the nuts, 3 pcs.

2. Plug in the control module connector.

3. Pass the floor console over the handbrake lever. Do not press the console into place but just let it rest loosely in position.

4. Guide in the connector to the window lift module, interior lighting and rear seat heater through the hole for each respective unit.

5. Connect the window lift module connector and fit the module.

6. Plug in the interior lighting connector and fit the switch.

7. Plug in the connector of the rear-seat heater and fit the switch.

8. Tighten the 2 retaining bolts and the 2 retaining nuts of the floor console.

9. Put the rear cowl in place, making sure that the air duct seats properly against the nozzle. Secure the cowl with one torx screw.

10. Put the ashtray/cover plate back in place.

11. Plug in the connector for the ignition-switch lighting.

12. Refit the ignition switch cover plate.

13. Reconnect the negative cable on the battery and turn on the ignition.

14. Connect the diagnostic tool to the data link connector under the dashboard and clear any diagnostic trouble codes.

Turn the ignition off and on again. Wait at least 10 seconds with the ignition on.

Check whether a diagnostic trouble code is shown.

If a diagnostic trouble code is shown:

Perform the relevant fault diagnosis according to the instructions in the: Fault diagnosis, general .

If the diagnostic trouble code is not shown:

Refit the items you have removed.
