P0562, P0563
Symptom: None
Battery voltage
Fault symptoms
None
Conditions
P0562 Battery voltage below 10 V for longer than 60 seconds after starting.
P0563 Battery voltage above 16 V for longer than 60 seconds after starting.
Diagnostic help
Diagnostic trouble codes P0562 and P0563 do not indicate a fault in the true
sense.
If battery voltage is lower than 10 V or higher than 16 V for more than 60 seconds, a
consequential fault may arise which is due to battery voltage being too low or too high.
Diagnostic trouble codes P0562 and P0563 are generated to indicate battery voltage outside
the normal operating range and avoid unnecessary fault diagnosis.
Check the wiring
Intermittent faults may occur as a result of temporary short circuits and breaks in the
wiring. Jiggle the wiring at several points and in different directions to ascertain whether the
wiring harness, including any connectors, is causing the trouble. Observe the multimeter,
ISAT scan tool or test lamp while doing this.
Diagnostic procedure
1. Check for additional diagnostic trouble codes
-
|
Use an ISAT scan tool to obtain
readouts of all diagnostic trouble codes.
|
Does the ISAT scan tool show other diagnostic trouble codes?
Continue with point 2.
Check the battery voltage and also the control module's ground
connection and power supply, if considered necessary. Continue with point 2.
2. Final check
-
|
Clear the diagnostic trouble
code.
