Brake lights
Brake lights |
When the brake pedal is depressed and the brake light switch is activated, the ICE module is supplied with 12 V on pin 25. The brake lights are then supplied with power via ICE module pins 29 (left-hand), 6 (right-hand) and 26 (high-level brake light).
The brake lights on a trailer are supplied with power directly from the brake light switch.
Brake test message |
The ICE module monitors the brake light bulbs and can be programmed to display a brake test message.
When the ignition switch is turned to the ON position, a test message will be displayed in the SID unit.
The message disappears when the brake light is activated, provided that the brake light bulbs and fuse are intact.
For programming information, see .
Bulb check |
The ICE module contains three separate shunt resistors for checking the three brake-light bulb circuits. In the event of imbalance in any of the circuits, the ICE module sends a signal to SID unit 2 or 3 and a message will appear on the display. If the car is equipped with main instrument display panel 1, the "Faulty bulb" indicator lamp will light up.
