To remove |

Dismantle the rear courtesy handle by folding the cover to one side with a small screwdriver and removing the two screws.

Remove the rear roof clip by turning it 90° .

Remove the C pillar trim. See
“Body, interior, trim c pillar”.

3D cars: Remove the roof panel. See
Remove the roof rack screw from the rivet to be removed. |

5D cars: Remove the roof strip by the roof rivets.

Carefully fold down the head lining and place a magnet on the roof rivet that is to be removed. The roof rivets are accessible through the hole under the headlining.

8. |
Drill out the head of the roof rivet with a 9 mm (0.35 in) drill bit.
In the event of rust the rivet can rotate with the drill bit, if this happens grind away the roof rivet. |
9. |
Remove the drilled out rivet through the hole in the headlining by using the magnet.

In the event of rust: Blast/grind and clean with Teroson cleaner FL. Apply Standox 1K Füllprimer. Apply finishing coat. |

Apply liquid anti-rust agent around the holes and on the roof rivet.
|
2. |
Fit the roof rivet with the rivet tool part no. (16) 82 92 617.

3. |
3D cars: Fit the roof rack screw to the roof rack.
|
4. |
Fold up the headlining and fit the rear courtesy handle.
|
5. |
Fit the roof clip.
|
6. |
Fit the C pillar trim. See
“Body, interior, trim c pillar”.

7. |
Refit the B pillar trim, on 3D cars fit the upper seat belt mounting and the outer B pillar trim. See
“Interior, Seat belt system. Front seat belt 3D”

8. |
5D cars: Refit the roof strip by the roof rivets.
