Pre-delivery service

The materials required for pre-delivery service are packed in the car glove box and luggage compartment.


1.Unlock the car.

Note

Since the car's electrical system is in transport mode, the car can only be unlocked manually. The left front door is unlocked using the metal key incorporated in the remote control.


2.Remove the plastic paint protector.

3.CV: Remove the protection from the soft top.

4.Remove the transport supports from the suspension. From and including VIN 81122974 (4D/5D) see Transport support VIN 81122974 (4D/5D) -

5.Remove the transport protection from the brake discs and the label from the windscreen.

6.Perform Battery check during pre-delivery service.

Important

If possible, the battery should be checked before the car is started in order to prevent misleading results due to "top charging". If the car has already been started, wait 20 minutes before connecting the battery analyser.


7.Fit the battery cover.

8.Adjust tyre pressure (including the spare tyre, if included).

9.Cars with steel rims: Fit the hub caps.

10.Check level of fluids and top up as required.

-Washer fluid

-Engine oil

-Coolant

-Brake fluid

-Power steering fluid

11.Remove the protection from the following places in the cabin:

-the seats

-the rear seat

-the gear lever/selector

-the steering wheel

-the floor

-the door trim on the driver's side

-the front sills

-the lower dashboard

-Cars with navigation system: the navigation unit display.

12.Put in place the extra carpet (not US/CA).

13.Remove the VIN label from the side window in the rear door.

14.Remove the items packed in the glove box.

-Fit the cover over the lock cylinder on the front left door.

-Theft alarm label, to fit (not US/CA).

-EU: Place the Certificate of Conformity in the owner's manual folder.

-CV: Fit the radio antenna rod.

-Cars with navigation system: Load the map disc in the navigation unit's DVD player.

CV: The navigation disc is factory-inserted; check!

-Fit wheel bolt caps.

15.Set date and time.

16.Check the function of the wash/wipe system.

17.Clear fault codes in all systems.

18.Perform Configuration of dipped beam/front fog lights.

19.Fit the foam to the number plate as instructed (does not apply to JP and KR).

Mount number plates.

20.Cars with pinch protection: Remove fuse F5 in the instrument panel. Fit fuse F5. Carry out Programming pinch protection.

21.Test-drive the car.

22.Make sure no fault codes have been detected in any of the systems.

23.Remove the towing eye, close the cover, remove the spare wheel and place the towing eye in the toolbox. Fit the spare wheel, if present.

24.Clean the car.
