DTC P0502 VEHICLE SPEED SENSOR CIRCUIT LOW INPUT

DTC DETECTING CONDITION:


Immediately at fault recognition

GENERAL DESCRIPTION


Important

After repair or replacement of faulty parts, conduct Clear Memory Mode and Inspection Mode .


WIRING DIAGRAM:


CHECK TRANSMISSION TYPE.

Is the transmission type AT?

Yes


No




CHECK HARNESS BETWEEN ECM AND TCM CONNECTOR.

Turn the ignition switch to OFF.

Disconnect the connectors from ECM and TCM.

Measure the resistance of harness between TCM connector and chassis ground.

Connector & terminal

(B56) No. 17 — Chassis ground:

Is the resistance more than 1 MΩ?

Yes


No

Repair the ground short circuit in harness between ECM and TCM connector.


CHECK POOR CONTACT.

Check poor contact in TCM connector.

Is there poor contact in TCM connector?

Yes

Repair poor contact in TCM connector.


No

Contact Service Center.


CHECK HARENESS BETWEEN VEHICLE SPEED SENSOR AND ECM CONNECTOR.

Turn the ignition switch to OFF.

Disconnect the connectors from vehicle speed sensor and ECM.

Measure the resistance of harness between vehicle speed sensor connector and chassis ground.

(B17) No. 1 — Chassis ground:

Is the resistance more than 1 MΩ?

Yes


No

Repair the ground short circuit in harness between vehicle speed sensor and ECM connector.


CHECK POOR CONTACT.

Check poor contact in the vehicle speed sensor connector.

Is there poor contact in the vehicle speed sensor connector?

Yes

Repair poor contact in the vehicle speed sensor connector.


No

Replace the vehicle speed sensor.
