Fit the right-hand engine mounting.
|
|
| 3. |
Fit the right-hand engine pad.
|
|
| 4. |
Remove
KM 6313 Centring fixture, subframe - engine

|
| 5. |
Remove the oil sump. See

Oil sump in car Z19DTR

Remove the oil suction pipe.
|
|
| To fit |
| 1. |
Fit the bearing shells in connecting rods and bearing caps.
|
|
| 2. |
Place the piston rings as illustrated. The piston ring gaps must be positioned at 120° to each other.
|
|
| 3. |
Lubricate the cylinder bore and piston with engine oil.
|
|
| 4. |
Compress the piston rings with
83 95 915 Piston ring compressor, universal
. Fit the pistons in cylinders 1 and 4. The recess in the piston must be facing the piston cooling nozzle.
|
|
| 5. |
Fit the bearing caps with the marks facing the marks on the connecting rods.
Tightening torque 25 Nm +60° (18 lbf ft +60°)
|
|
| 6. |
Turn the crankshaft a 1/2 turn.
|
|
| 7. |
Compress the piston rings with
83 95 915 Piston ring compressor, universal
. Fit the pistons in cylinders 2 and 3. The recess in the piston must be facing the oil nozzle.

|
| 8. |
Fit the bearing caps with the marks facing the marks on the connecting rods.
Tightening torque 25 Nm +60° (18 lbf ft +60°)
|
|
| 9. |
If the piston or connecting rod has been changed

Fit the oil suction pipe.
