Circuit/System Description |
The electronic brake control module (EBCM) must be configured with the security code, CAN configuration data and vehicle options. If not properly configured after installation, the EBCM may set a DTC.
The internal fault detection is handled inside the control module. No external circuits are involved.
Conditions for Running the DTC |
Ignition ON
Conditions for Setting the DTC |
The control module is not properly programmed.
Action Taken When the DTC Sets |

The ABS indicator turns ON.

• |
The electronic brake control module (EBCM) disconnects the traction control and stability control during the ignition cycle.
|
Conditions for Clearing the DTC |
• |
The DTC is cleared if a diagnostic test is run and passes.
|
• |
The DTC stored in the history is cleared after 40 consecutive fault-free ignition cycles have taken place.
|
Diagnostic Aids |
A newly replaced electronic brake control module (EBCM) can set one or more DTCs on its initial ignition ON cycle.

Ignition ON

Verify that DTC C056E has not been generated.
|
3. |
If the DTC C056E has been generated:
|
3.1. |
Program K17 electronic brake control module.
|
3.2. |
Confirm that the DTC is not generated after having run the vehicle over 40 km/h (25 mph).
|
3.3. |
If a DTC is generated, replace K17 the electronic brake control module.
|
3.4. |
If DTC is not generated:
|
3.5. |
All OK.
|

If DTC is not generated:
