Circuit/System Description

The electronic brake control module (EBCM) must be configured with the security code, CAN configuration data and vehicle options. If not properly configured after installation, the EBCM may set a DTC.

The internal fault detection is handled inside the control module. No external circuits are involved.

Conditions for Running the DTC

Ignition ON

Conditions for Setting the DTC

The control module is not properly programmed.

Action Taken When the DTC Sets

The ABS indicator turns ON.

The electronic brake control module (EBCM) disconnects the traction control and stability control during the ignition cycle.

Conditions for Clearing the DTC

The DTC is cleared if a diagnostic test is run and passes.

The DTC stored in the history is cleared after 40 consecutive fault-free ignition cycles have taken place.
