Front Seat Cushion Cover and Pad Replacement

Removal Procedure


1. Remove the front seat. Refer to Driver or Passenger Seat Replacement .

2. Remove the front seat adjuster, if equipped. Refer to Front Seat Adjuster Replacement .

3. Remove the front seat outer adjuster finish cover. Refer to Driver or Passenger Seat Outer Adjuster Finish Cover Replacement .

4. Remove the front seat inner recliner finish cover. Refer to Driver or Passenger Seat Inner Recliner Finish Cover Replacement .

5. Remove the rear retainers on the seat cushion cover from the seat frame.


6. Disengage the J-channel retainers from the seat frame.

7. Disconnect the electrical connector, if equipped.

8. Disconnect the duct from the vent fan, if equipped.

9. Remove the seat cushion cover and pad (1) from the seat cushion frame as an assembly.

10. Remove the hog rings from the under side of the seat cover.


11. Pull the cushion cover (1) off of the pad (2).

12. When replacing the front passenger seat cushion, you must also replace the inflatable restraint passenger presence system. Refer to Inflatable Restraint Front Passenger Presence Sensor Replacement .


Installation Procedure


1. Pull the vertical listing wires (1) rearward partially out of the trim cover (2) before placing the trim cover on the pad.


2. Install hogrings in position 1 through 3, attaching the cover to the pad (1).


3. Pull the listing wires forward into the design position.

4. Install hogrings in position 4 through 9, attaching the cover to the pad (1).

5. Install the seat cushion cover and pad (1) to the seat cushion frame as an assembly.


6. Connect the duct from the vent fan, if equipped.

7. Connect the electrical connector, if equipped.

8. Install the J-channel retainers to the seat frame.

9. Install the rear retainers on the seat cushion cover to the seat frame.

10. Install the front seat inner recliner finish cover. Refer to Driver or Passenger Seat Inner Recliner Finish Cover Replacement .

11. Install the front seat outer adjuster finish cover. Refer to Driver or Passenger Seat Outer Adjuster Finish Cover Replacement .

12. Install the front seat adjuster, if equipped. Refer to Front Seat Adjuster Replacement .

13. Install the front seat. Refer to Driver or Passenger Seat Replacement .

14. When working with the passenger seat, you must test for a preload to the inflatable restraint passenger presence system whenever the seat cushion or any component of the passenger presence system is removed. Refer to Control Module References .
