Disable the SIR system. Refer to

Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to

Remove the body side outer panel. Refer to

4. |
Remove the body side outer panel extension. Refer to
Body Side Outer Panel Extension Replacement
.

5. |
Remove the tail lamp pocket. Refer to

.

Remove the body side outer panel rear upper extension. Refer to
Body Side Outer Panel Rear Upper Extension Replacement

Remove the rocker outer panel reinforcement (rear, outer). Refer to
Rocker Outer Panel Reinforcement Replacement (Front)

Visually inspect the damage. Repair as much of the damage as possible.

Remove the sealers and anti-corrosion materials from the repair area, as necessary. Refer to
Anti-Corrosion Treatment and Repair (Base)

Cut the body lock pillar upper reinforcement where sectioning is to be performed.
|
12. |
Locate and drill out all of the necessary factory welds on the body lock pillar upper reinforcement.
|
13. |
Remove the body lock pillar upper reinforcement (2).
|
14. |
Create a cut line on the body side inner panel sectioning (1). |
15. |
Cut the body side inner panel sectioning where sectioning is to be performed.
|
16. |
Locate and drill out all of the necessary factory welds on the body side inner panel sectioning.
|
17. |
Locate and drill out all of the necessary factory welds (1) on the body side inner panel sectioning. |
18. |
Locate and drill out all of the necessary factory welds (1) on the body side inner panel sectioning. |
19. |
Remove the damaged body side inner panel sectioning (2).
|
Installation Procedure |
1. |
Prepare the new body side inner panel.
|
2. |
Create a cut line on the body side inner panel (1).
|
3. |
Cut the new body side inner panel in corresponding to the fit of the original panel. The sectioning joint should be trimmed to allow min. 1 times the metal thickness at the sectioning joint.

4. |
Clean and prepare the attaching surfaces for welding (1).
|
5. |
Apply bodywork repair through structural adhesive to body (1). Refer to
Structural Adhesive Body Repairs
.

6. |
Position the body side inner panel on the vehicle.
|
7. |
Verify the fit of the body side inner panel.
|
8. |
Clamp the body side inner panel into position.
|
9. |
Spot and plug weld the body side inner panel (1) accordingly. |
10. |
MIG-braze the body side inner panel (1).
|
11. |
Grind MIG brazed seams.
|
12. |
Apply the sealers and anti-corrosion materials to the repair area, as necessary. Refer to
Anti-Corrosion Treatment and Repair (Base)

Install the body side outer panel. Refer to

Install the body side outer panel extension. Refer to

Install the tail lamp pocket. Refer to
