Circuit/System Description

The body control module (BCM) controls the door lock, passenger door unlock and driver door unlock circuits. Voltage is applied to the appropriate circuit when the BCM senses a door lock/unlock switch activation or a keyless entry lock or unlock command.

Conditions for Running the DTC

Battery voltage must be between 9-18 V.

Conditions for Setting the DTC

B3125 02

The BCM detects a short to ground on the driver door unlock control circuit.

B3130 02

The BCM detects a short to ground on the unlock door control circuit.

B3135 02

The BCM detects a short to ground on the door lock control circuit.

Action Taken When the DTC Sets

The power door locks will be inoperative.

Conditions for Clearing the DTC

This DTC will be current for as long as the fault is present.

When the fault is no longer present, the DTC will be a history DTC.

A history DTC will clear after 50 ignition cycles.

Circuit/System Verification

Request the All Door Lock, Driver Door Unlock and Passenger Door(s) Unlock with the scan tool. The doors should lock and unlock.

Circuit/System Testing

1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the X5 harness connector at the K9 Body Control Module.

2. Ignition ON, verify that a test lamp illuminates between the B+ circuit terminal 4 and ground.

3. If the test lamp does not illuminate, test the B+ circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the F32 fuse or the front compartment fuse block housing .

4. Ignition OFF, connect the X5 harness connector at the K9 Body Control Module.

5. Disconnect the A23D Door Latch Assembly - Driver harness connector.

6. Verify that DTC B3125 02, B3130 02, or B3135 02 does not reset.

7. If the DTC does not reset, test or replace the A23D Door Latch Assembly - Driver.

8. Ignition OFF, disconnect the A23P Door Latch Assembly - Passenger harness connector.

9. Verify that DTC B3125 02, B3130 02, or B3135 02 does not reset.

10. If the DTC does not reset, test or replace the A23P Door Latch Assembly - Passenger.

11. Ignition OFF, disconnect the A23LR Door Latch Assembly - Left Rear harness connector.

12. Verify that DTC B3125 02, B3130 02, or B3135 02 does not reset.

13. If the DTC does not reset, test or replace the A23LR Door Latch Assembly - Left Rear.

14. Ignition OFF, disconnect the A23RR Door Latch Assembly - Right Rear harness connector.

15. Verify that DTC B3125 02, B3130 02, or B3135 02 does not reset.

16. If the DTC does not reset, test or replace the A23RR Door Latch Assembly - Right Rear.

17. Ignition OFF, disconnect the M27 Fuel Door Unlatch Actuator harness connector.

18. Verify that DTC B3125 02, B3130 02, or B3135 02 does not reset.

19. If the DTC does not reset, test or replace the M27 Fuel Door Unlatch Actuator.

20. Ignition OFF, disconnect the X6 harness connector at the K9 Body Control Module.

21. Test for infinite resistance between the circuit terminals listed below and ground:

Control circuit terminal 1

Control circuit terminal 2

Control circuit terminal 4

If less than the specified value, test the control circuit for a short to ground.

22. If all circuits test normal, replace the K9 Body Control Module.

Component Testing

Door Latch Test

1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the appropriate door latch assembly.

2. Install a 25 A fused jumper wire between the lock control terminal and 12 V. Momentarily install a jumper wire between the unlock control terminal and ground. The door latch assembly should perform the Lock/Unlock function.

3. If the function does not perform as specified, replace the door latch assembly.

4. Reverse the jumper wires; the appropriate door lock should perform the Unlock/Lock function.

5. If the function does not perform as specified, replace the door latch assembly.
