Crankshaft Balancer Replacement (LLU/A16LET)


Special Tools

EN-6625 Flywheel Holder

For equivalent regional tools, refer to Special Tools .

Removal Procedure


1. Turn the ignition OFF.

2. Disconnect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .

3. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .

4. Remove the front compartment splash shield. Refer to Front Compartment Splash Shield Replacement .

5. Remove the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement (LLU/A16LET) .

6. Remove 2 fasteners of the transmission front mount. Refer to Transmission Front Mount Replacement .

7. Install EN-6625 holder (1) to the engine block (2).


8. Remove the fastener (1) and the washer of the crankshaft balancer (2).



Installation Procedure


1. Refer to Fastener Caution .

Install the crankshaft balancer (2) and the washer with a NEW fastener (1).


2. Tighten the fastener of the crankshaft balancer in 3 passes.

• First pass in sequence to 95 Nm (70 lb ft)

• Second pass to 30 degrees

• Third pass to 15 degrees

3. Remove EN-6625 holder (1) from the engine block (2).


4. Install the 2 fasteners of the transmission front mount. Refer to Transmission Front Mount Replacement .

5. Install the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement (LLU/A16LET) .

6. Install the front compartment splash shield. Refer to Front Compartment Splash Shield Replacement .

7. Lower the vehicle.
