Oil Pan Replacement



Callout Component Name

Preliminary Procedure

1. Remove the engine shield. Refer to Engine Shield Replacement

2. Remove the engine oil and oil filter. Refer to Engine Oil and Oil Filter Replacement

3. Remove exhaust front pipe. Refer to Exhaust Front Pipe Replacement (LBY/A20DTR) Exhaust Front Pipe Replacement (LLU/A16LET) Exhaust Front Pipe Replacement (LBS/A20DTH) Exhaust Front Pipe Replacement (LHU/A20NFT, LAU/A28NER) .

4. Remove the front wheel drive intermediate shaft bracket. Refer to Front Wheel Drive Intermediate Shaft Bracket Replacement

Catalytic Converter Securing Fasteners (Qty: 2)

Refer to Fastener Caution .

Procedure

Release the catalytic converter to oil pan fasteners.

Tighten

23 Nm (17 lb ft)

Front Transmission Fastener

Procedure

Release the transmission bell housing to oil pan fastener.

Tighten

40 Nm (29 lb ft)

Oil Separator Pipe


Procedure

1. Remove the starter. Refer to Starter Removal (LDK, LHU) .

2. Release the oil separator pipe to oil pan fastener.

3. Remove the oil separator pipe from the oil pan.


Tighten

25 Nm (18 lb ft)

Rear Transmission to Oil Pan Fastener

Procedure

Release the transmission bell housing to oil pan fastener.

Tighten

40 Nm (29 lb ft)

Oil Pan Fastener (Qty: 14)


Procedure

1. Remove the oil level sensor connector.

2. Turn the engine to reach the left fasteners through the opening in the flywheel.


Tighten


• M 10 bolts to 40 Nm (29 lb ft)

• M 8 bolts to 25 Nm (18 lb ft)

• M 6 bolts to 9 Nm (80 lb in)

Oil Pan


Procedure

1. Release the oil level sensor spring retainer.

2. Remove the oil level sensor.

3. Transfer any parts as needed.
