Rear Axle Lower Control Arm Replacement (GNE)



Callout Component Name

Preliminary Procedure

1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .

2. Remove the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .

3. Remove the rear spring. Refer to Rear Spring Replacement (GNC) Rear Spring Replacement (GNE) .

4. AWD: Remove the wheel drive shaft retaining nut and disengage the wheel drive shaft spindle from the wheel hub assembly. Refer to Rear Wheel Drive Shaft Replacement .

5. Remove the shock absorber lower fastener. Refer to Shock Absorber Replacement (GNC) Shock Absorber Replacement (GNE) .

Rear Suspension Link Fastener

Refer to Fastener Caution .


Procedure

1. Install a NEW bolt.

2. Torque on nut.


Tighten

150 Nm (111 lb ft) + 60 degrees + 15 degrees

Rear Suspension Lower Control Arm Fastener (Qty: 2)


Procedure

1. Install a NEW bolt.

2. Torque on nut.


Tighten

115 Nm (85 lb ft) + 90 degrees + 15 degrees

Procedure

Use a proper jack stand to load the control arm when tightening the fasteners.
