Cars with triggered seat-belt tensioner and or side airbag
|
The following components must be replaced when repairing a car in which the seat-belt tensioners and/or the side airbags have been triggered.
The control module can be used a maximum of three times for activating the side airbags. See Technical description

Check and if necessary repair or replace the wiring harness for the side impact sensor, side airbag and seat-belt tensioner.
Cars with a triggered seat-belt tensioner
When repairing a car with a triggered seat-belt tensioner, the following components must always be changed:

All seat belts in the rear seat that were used during the collision (2). See

Cars with a triggered side airbag
When repairing a car with a triggered side airbag, the following components must always be changed:

The backrest upholstery cover must always be replaced after a side airbag has been triggered. A damaged or repaired cover is liable to affect the performance of the side airbag.

When repairing a car with a triggered airbag, the following components must always be changed:

The following components must be inspected for burn damage and deformation:

Warning

Change all the seat belts if it cannot be determined with certainty which belts were in use when the collision occurred.
|
The seat belt on the passenger side must always be changed, even if it has not been used. This is because the seat-belt tensioner has been triggered.
