|
DTC Descriptor |
DTC P2282 00
Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) - Turbocharger Boost Pressure Not Plausible
Circuit/System Description |
The engine control module (ECM) compares the actual vacuum reading for the turbocharger boost pressure sensor at idle with a calculated vacuum value. DTC P2282 00 is set when the measured engine vacuum for the turbocharger boost pressure sensor is lower than the vacuum value expected by the ECM.
Conditions for Running the DTC |
• |
DTCs P0100 00, P0101 00, P0102 00, P0103 00, P0234 00, P0237 00, P0299 00, P2101 00, P2111 00, P2119 00, P2122 00, P2123 00, P2127 00, P2128 00, P2135 00, P2138 00, and P2179 00 are not set.
|
• |
The engine speed is greater than 1000 RPM.
|
• |
The boost pressure control is active.
|
• |
The engine coolant temperature is greater than -10°C (14°F).
|
• |
The intake air temperature (IAT) sensor is greater than -20°C (-4°F).
|
• |
The ignition voltage is between 11-16 V.
|
• |
This DTC runs continuously once the above conditions are met.
|
Conditions for Setting the DTC |
The ECM detects that the actual vacuum reading is less than the calculated vacuum for 2 s.
Action Taken When the DTC Sets |
• |
DTC P2282 00 is a Type C DTC.
|
• |
The ECM will disable boost control and limit the system to mechanical boost only, resulting in a substantial decrease in engine power.
|
• |
The service vehicle soon indicator will illuminate.
|
Conditions for Clearing the DTC |
DTC P2282 00 is a Type C DTC.

Circuit/System Verification |
1. |
With the engine running, check the DTC Information with the scan tool. DTC P2282 00 should not be set.
|
2. |
Operate the vehicle within the conditions for running the DTC to verify the DTC does not reset. You may also operate the vehicle within the conditions that you observed from the freeze frame/failure records data.
|
Circuit/System Testing |
1. |
Verify none of the following conditions exist:
|
• |
The air intake duct system for loose connecting clamps, cracks, or other damage
|
• |
A damaged Q38 Throttle Body blade or shaft
|
• |
Splits, kinks, or improper connections at the vacuum hoses
|
• |
Faulty positive crankcase ventilation system operation
|
• |
Carbon deposits on the throttle blade. Clean throttle blade as necessary
|
• |
Vacuum leaks at the intake manifold, Q38 Throttle Body, Q17 Fuel Injector O-rings, and B111 Turbocharger Boost Sensor
|
2. |
If all conditions test normal, test the engine for proper camshaft timing. Refer to
Timing Belt Replacement (LLU/A16LET)
.
