Turbocharger Replacement (LBY/A20DTR)

/ 9-5 (9650) / 2011 / 2. Engine / Basic engine, 4-cylinder diesel / Adjustment/replacement / Turbocharger Replacement (LBY/A20DTR)

Removal Procedure

1.	Raise the vehicle by its full height. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .

2.

Remove the catalytic converter. Refer to Catalytic Converter Replacement (LAU/A28NER) Catalytic Converter Replacement (LBY/A20DTR) Catalytic Converter Replacement (LLU/A16LET) Catalytic Converter Replacement (LBS/A20DTH) Catalytic Converter Replacement (LHU/A20NFT) Catalytic Converter Replacement (LHU/A20NFT - AWD) .

3.	Remove the turbocharger oil return pipe. Refer to Turbocharger Oil Return Pipe Replacement (LBY/A20DTR) Turbocharger Oil Return Pipe Replacement (LBS/A20DTH) .

4.	Remove the exhaust manifold heat shield. Refer to Exhaust Manifold Heat Shield Replacement (LBS/A20DTH) Exhaust Manifold Heat Shield Replacement (LBY/A20DTR) Exhaust Manifold Heat Shield Replacement (LLU/A16LET) Exhaust Manifold Heat Shield Replacement (LHU/A20NFT) .

5.	Remove the turbo unit lower fastener (1).

6.	Remove fastener oil pipe (2).

7.	Remove the vacuum hoses from turbo unit.

8.	Remove the turbocharger oil feed pipe. Refer to Turbocharger Oil Feed Pipe Replacement (LBY/A20DTR) Turbocharger Oil Feed Pipe Replacement (LBS/A20DTH) .

9.	Remove the air cleaner outlet duct lower. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement - Lower (LBY/A20DTR) .

10.	Remove the charge air cooler inlet pipe from turbo. Refer to Charge Air Cooler Inlet Pipe and Outlet Pipe Replacement (LBY/A20DTR) Charge Air Cooler Inlet Pipe and Outlet Pipe Replacement (LBS/A20DTH) .

11.	Remove the oil dipstick tube fasteners (3) and the oil dipstick tube (4).

12.	Remove the 9 fasteners (5) from turbocharger.

13.	Transfer any parts as needed.

Installation Procedure

1.	Install the turbocharger and tighten to 20 Nm (15 lb ft) (5).

2.	Install the oil dipstick tube (4) and tighten the oil dipstick tube fasteners (3) to 8 Nm (71 lb in) .

3.	Install the charge air cooler inlet pipe to turbo. Refer to Charge Air Cooler Inlet Pipe and Outlet Pipe Replacement (LBY/A20DTR) Charge Air Cooler Inlet Pipe and Outlet Pipe Replacement (LBS/A20DTH) .

4.	Install the air cleaner outlet duct lower. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement - Lower (LBY/A20DTR) .

5.	Install the turbocharger oil feed pipe. Refer to Turbocharger Oil Feed Pipe Replacement (LBY/A20DTR) Turbocharger Oil Feed Pipe Replacement (LBS/A20DTH) .

6.	Install the vacuum hoses to turbo unit.

7.	Install fastener oil pipe (2).

8.	Install the turbo unit lower fastener (1).

9.	Install the exhaust manifold heat shield. Refer to Exhaust Manifold Heat Shield Replacement (LBS/A20DTH) Exhaust Manifold Heat Shield Replacement (LBY/A20DTR) Exhaust Manifold Heat Shield Replacement (LLU/A16LET) Exhaust Manifold Heat Shield Replacement (LHU/A20NFT) .

10.	Install the turbocharger oil return pipe. Refer to Turbocharger Oil Return Pipe Replacement (LBY/A20DTR) Turbocharger Oil Return Pipe Replacement (LBS/A20DTH) .

11.

Install the catalytic converter. Refer to Catalytic Converter Replacement (LAU/A28NER) Catalytic Converter Replacement (LBY/A20DTR) Catalytic Converter Replacement (LLU/A16LET) Catalytic Converter Replacement (LBS/A20DTH) Catalytic Converter Replacement (LHU/A20NFT) Catalytic Converter Replacement (LHU/A20NFT - AWD) .

12.	Lower the vehicle.
